UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!!

ChillED is a Commodore64 cross development tool for designing, creating and editing C64 hires and multicolour screens, including character sets and screen and colour RAM.

For a list of the editing features, click here...

ChillED has been in development and used internally since around 2018 for creating screens for various game and demo projects including 'Chiller 2' (for which the tool was originally developed), CHILL3R, OutRun PETSCII and more.

For a list of the projects developed using ChillED, please click here...

Minimum System Requirements

WindowsXP
500MHz CPU (x64)
128MB RAM
4MB free diskspace
1024x768 (1920x1080 recommended)
Keyboard
Mouse

ChillED will probably launch on older, slower systems than that listed above, but will run more slowly, possibly with part of the display cut off.  ChillED was devleoped under MS Windows. However, it does not use any external .dll files or other dependencies so, in theory, should run under Linux or similar using a compatibility layer such as 'Wine'.

Installation & Configuration

ChillED does not require installation or other files to run.  It will run standalone from wherever it is located once 'unzipped' to your folder of choice.

File Manifest

Included in the archive download should be:

* ChillED.exe (the main program, x64)
* examples (a folder containing the below)
   - folder of charsets to play with
   - folder of ChillED projects to play with
* docs (a folder containing the below)
   - readme.txt
   - help.txt

No 'changelog' file exists as this tool was originally developed for internal use only, with features added as necessary over several years.

Donation

ChillED is 'freeware'. It may be copied and distributed freely as long as the download archive remains intact and unaltered. If you find it useful, as a token of goodwill consider a donation! Visit the donation page here...
